Jock has worked at the cutting edge of innovative learning design and provision for nearly 20 years.
After several years working as a liaison officer with the Australian Navy, Jock returned to post-graduate study, taught his computer how to paint, and then moved into tertiary art education, teaching Fine Arts, Multimedia and Media Studies in university and TAFE environments. He took an opportunity to project manage the pedagogical and UI design components of a joint Microsoft/TAFE NSW project working on an early LMS (Learning Management System). In 2001 he was awarded a fellowship by the Commonwealth Government to study the emerging field of eLearning in the USA and elsewhere. That same year he founded a highly successful learning innovation centre in Newcastle.
From 2004-2006 he was NSW Manager of LearnScope, an Australian Government program to develop eLearning and eBusiness capacity in the training sector. In 2007 he moved into the private sector as National Learning & Development Manager for a major community services organisation, and from 2008-2012 worked as an learning design consultant in the corporate sector with several major national and multinational companies.
He joined Pulse in 2012 and has worked to develop various learning, communication, digital and knowledge strategies and initiatives.
Jock is a visual artist with an exhibition record spanning more than 35 years and now channels much of his creativity into visual communication in his work-life, he is also a keen SCUBA diver (for over 30 years) and enjoys boating and spending time with his 3 school-age children.
